Happy Anniversary to US!

I guess Summer is the season of Anniversaries... so here we are, celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary on August 30th. We've been together for 8 years and it still amazes me how we still can stand each other! hahaha Dustin said that he heard somewhere that once you've hit the 5 year mark, you're good to go for the rest of your life. I told him "yay" not very enthusiastically, he just smiled and gave me a kiss instead of being hurt. I'm so glad that we've finally passed the phase of not understanding when each other is being sarcastic. :)

Anyway, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY honey! You're the best and I'm looking forward to spending forever with you since I don't really have a choice! (he constantly says I'm stuck with him). LOVE YOU!

This was taken in 2000! Look at us a lot younger and skinnier!

This was taken on our Wedding in August, 2003! The happiest day of our lives!

This is us now... 2008! Yep, older, fatter, less hair BUT wiser and still crazy about each other!

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

Who needs Dr. Phil if you can just go to this homepage, type in your name and it will tell you everything there is to know about you?! This is all so true, every Marina I've ever met is JUST like me! hahaha OK, this is totally bogus but I thought it was fun so I'm posting it anyway!

What Marina Means
You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

Did you like the book?

This is for those who have read "Breaking Dawn". If you haven't finished yet, maybe you shouldn't read this post.
I'm just wondering what everyones opinion is on the book. Did you like it? Do you think there's going to be a next one? Do you even want there to be a next one?

I made sure to take my time reading this one so I could enjoy every page of it. The other books weren't as long and I finished them wanting more. This one, not so much! I don't know if it's because not a whole lot happened or what! The first Bella book was fun because it was a continuation of the last book, so I really liked it. Jacob's book was hilarious to me! I found myself laughing out loud. The rest of the book was interesting until it got kind of creepy. I don't know what y'all thought about Jacob "imprinting" on Renesmee, but I just found it creepy and wrong!!! I also didn't "buy" this time that a teenager was telling the story. I think the writer used words that teenagers DO NOT use! Maybe teenagers these days are more book smart than I thought, although, it's hard to believe that since they write/type like they are on instant messaging! LOL ;)

I know this is a little macabre of me but I was hoping there would be more fighting and more blood shed. Of course not of the little baby but come on, the other books all had that stuff! I guess my point is, I was hoping the book would be a little more exciting. I enjoyed it but not was much as the other ones. Ohhh, And I don't think there should be a next one. What do you think?

Me, a nerd?

So most of you that know us, know that I'm the "cool" one and Dustin is the "nerd" one right? This is something not open for discussion because it's obvious! UNTIL... Dustin's cousin and her friend spent a couple of days here to go to a Star trek convention and we were all having a conversation in my living room when Dustin was making fun of the girls for being nerds and I said "Ohhh look WHO is talking, you're such a nerd!!". Also, I may or may not have said that I was the only cool person in the house at the moment ( I probably included my dog too). He looked at me and said "Ohhh reeeeally? And WHO is so excited to read the new 'vampire' book?" GASP! I could not believe my ears, did he just imply that I'm a nerd?

For those of you who don't know what he is talking about, he means the Twilight series written by Stephenie Meyer. She is an author who graduated from BYU (we won't hold that against her), so her books are LDS-living appropriate. The book is pretty much a love story between this teenage girl who is in love with a vampire. Dustin claims it to be a "nerdy" book because vampires do not exist. I believe I have the right to disagree with that!
So the girl and the vampire are both in high school which made me weird at first because I'm not into teenage literature. But when I started reading the first book I could NOT stop, it was so well written and so much fun! When I was done with the first book, I couldn't wait to read the second one and then the third one! THEN, about a month ago Kathryn told me the writer was about to release a FOURTH book being part of the series. I cannot lie, I was VERY excited! I even went to the writer's homepage to find out when exactly the book would be released... August 2nd! It was only in a couple of days... how FUN!

But it's not like I went to the bookstore and stayed in line to get the book! Now, as far as the people that actually did that... well, they are on their own! That is pretty nerdy!!!!

Anyway, I wasn't even going to buy the book right away (I think), I was willing to wait until it got released on paperback. So the fact that my very good friend Kathryn gave me the book and I didn't have to wait doesn't make me a nerd! It makes me lucky! And the fact that I'm reading a book that teenagers are going crazy about, doesn't make me a nerd! It just means that I'm open to new and exciting things! :) If you haven't read any of the books, read the first one! It's totally worth it! And it will not make you a nerd!
